Element

Element class — foundational yoga. The Yoga Alchemy

You don't have to know yoga before you come to yoga.

This is where you learn.

A foundational yoga practice designed to teach you what you're doing, why you're doing it, and how to make the practice work for your body.

Learn the Foundation. Understand the Movement. Build the Confidence.

The Name

Why We Call It Element

Everything complex begins with something simple.

An element is a fundamental building block — something that can't be broken down much further, but from which something much bigger can be created.

That's what this class is.

Before there is flow, there are poses.
Before there is speed, there is control.
Before there is confidence, there is understanding.

And before you can decide how a movement should work in your body, someone has to give you the tools to understand it.

Element takes yoga back to those building blocks.

Not because simple means easy.
Because foundations matter.

The Problem

Somewhere Along the Way, Beginner Yoga Stopped Being for Beginners.

Walk into many yoga classes for the first time and you'll hear:

Downward Dog. Chaturanga. Warrior II. Vinyasa. Find your drishti. Engage your core.

And everyone starts moving.

Except maybe you.

You're looking around the room trying to figure out which foot goes where, wondering whether your knee is supposed to hurt, trying to breathe while simultaneously figuring out what the instructor just said.

The class may technically be "all levels."

That doesn't mean anyone actually taught you how to do it.

We think you deserve more than being told to follow along until you eventually figure it out.

The Method

We Teach the Pose, Not Just Its Name.

In Element, we slow things down enough to actually learn.

If we ask you to move into Warrior II, we don't assume you already know what Warrior II is.

We'll talk about your feet. Your stance. Where your knee is going. What your hips are doing. Where you might feel the pose — and where you probably shouldn't.

We'll show you how a block can change the movement, how your stance can change the experience, and how to modify something when your body needs a different option.

Then we'll give you time to practice it.

Because knowing the name of a pose isn't the same thing as understanding it.

The Practice

Learn. Practice. Connect.

Element is slower paced, but it is still a yoga practice.

You'll breathe. You'll move. You'll build strength, mobility, balance and body awareness.

You'll connect movements together and begin understanding how one position leads into another.

But there is room to stop. Room to ask questions. Room to try something again. Room to use a prop without feeling like you're doing the "lesser" version. And room to discover what the practice actually feels like when you're not worried about keeping up.

The Environment

No Heat Required.

Element is intentionally non-heated, with the room held around 75°F.

When you're learning something new, there are already plenty of things asking for your attention.

Your feet. Your breath. Your balance. The instructor. The strange yoga word you swear everyone else somehow already knows.

Heat doesn't need to be another one.

Element gives you a comfortable environment where the focus can stay on learning and moving.

The Difference

Beginner-Friendly Doesn't Mean Beginner-Only.

Element was created as a place to begin.

But beginnings aren't the only reason to come back to the basics.

Maybe you've practiced yoga for years but want to understand a pose better. Maybe you've been away from movement for a while. Maybe you're rebuilding confidence. Maybe Mercury sounds great — just not today. Maybe Atlas or Iron smoked you yesterday and your body would appreciate something different.

Or maybe you've discovered what experienced practitioners eventually learn:

Going back to the foundation isn't going backward.

Element meets you there.

The Progression

Learn Before You Add More.

There is a natural progression within The Yoga Alchemy.

Element — Learn

Understand the foundation.

Mercury — Move

Explore movement, breath and flow.

Atlas — Carry

Build functional capacity.

Iron — Build

Develop strength through progressive resistance.

Element doesn't exist because you have to "graduate" before you're allowed into the other rooms. You don't.

It exists because having a foundation gives you somewhere to build from.

And confidence changes everything.

The Philosophy

Understanding Creates Confidence.

We're not trying to make yoga easier. We're trying to make it understandable.

There is a difference.

We believe you should know why you're moving the way you're moving. We believe modifications are tools, not failures. We believe props are part of the practice, not evidence that you're bad at it. We believe questions belong in the room.

And we believe nobody should feel like they needed to take yoga before they were allowed to take yoga.

You don't need to be flexible. You don't need to know the poses. You don't need the right clothes, the right body, or the right amount of experience.

You just need somewhere to begin.
Element is that place.
